Why Your Email May Appear Instead of Your Phone Number
Ensure your phone number is registered correctly when activating your Linq Sandbox
Recipient Registration and iMessage Configuration
When you first register—either by sending a direct message to activate your Sandbox number or by scanning the QR code—the system will automatically capture and register the sender as the recipient phone number.
Why Your Email May Appear Instead of Your Phone Number
If your iMessage settings are configured to start new conversations using your email address (Apple ID) instead of your phone number, your iCloud email will appear as the sender when messaging, rather than your phone number. This may result in the incorrect identifier being registered in the system.
How to Update Your iMessage Settings
To ensure your phone number is used:
- Open Settings on your device
- Tap Messages
- Select Send & Receive
- Under Start New Conversations From, choose your phone number instead of your email address
- Under You Can Receive iMessages To and Reply From, make sure your phone number is selected
Once updated, send a new message to your Linq number to ensure the correct phone number is registered.
