How to Troubleshoot NFC Tap Issues on Linq Products

Learn how to resolve common NFC (Near-Field Communication) scanning issues with Linq Cards, Tags, and other products.

Quick Fixes for NFC Not Working

1. Check Device Compatibility

Most smartphones support NFC, but a few older models do not.

  • iPhones: NFC works on iPhone 7 and newer.

  • Android: Most Android phones support NFC — but ensure it is turned ON in Settings.

2. Tap the Correct Area of the Phone

Each device has a specific NFC “sweet spot”:

  • iPhone: Top edge of the phone (near the camera).

Try slowly moving the Linq product across the back of the phone until the notification appears.

3. Remove Thick or Metal Phone Cases

Metal or bulky cases can block NFC scans.

  • Try tapping again with the case removed.

4. Clean Your Linq Product

Dust or debris may affect the scan:

  • Wipe your card or tag with a soft cloth.

5. Test the QR Code Instead

If NFC still doesn’t work, your QR code is always a reliable backup.

  • Open any camera → scan the QR code → tap the link.

Notes & Tips

  • NFC does not require Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or mobile data to initiate the scan.

  • NFC interactions are nearly instant — if it takes more than 2–3 seconds, reposition the tag.
