Saving Contact from Linq Page

How Someone Saves Your Contact from a Linq Page

Linq can send your contact card to someone’s phone—but they have to finish the process on their device. Saving is never automatic; the other person must confirm adding you to their contacts.

You can use this guide to help them through it, especially if they’re not familiar with contact downloads.

Saving a Contact on iPhone (iOS)

On iPhone, the contact doesn’t save until the user manually adds it from the contact preview.

Typical flow:

  1. Tap “Exchange Contact” on your Linq page

    • The visitor taps Exchange Contact on your page.

    • Their phone opens a contact preview showing your name, phone, email, etc.

Contact preview opens-Save to store in their phone.

  2. Save the contact

    • They review the information and tap Done / Save.

Once they complete this, your contact is in their phone.

Notifications for you:
When a new contact is created from your page, you should receive push, email, and/or text notifications based on your preferences in the Notifications section of the Linq app.

Saving a Contact on Android

On Android, behavior can vary slightly by device and OS, but in general:

  1. Tap “Exchange Contact” on your Linq page

    • The visitor taps Exchange Contact on your page.

  2. Contact file downloads or opens
One of two things typically happens:

    • The contact opens directly in the Contacts app, or

    • A .vcf contact file downloads and appears as a banner/notification at the top.

  3. Open and choose account (if needed)

    • If a .vcf file is shown, they tap it.

    • If they have multiple accounts (e.g., several Gmail accounts), Android may ask which account to save the contact under.

  4. Save the contact

    • They confirm the details and tap Save in the Contacts screen.

Again, the contact is only stored once they complete this final step.

What You See on Your Side

After someone successfully saves your contact:

  • Linq logs a new contact event for your page.

  • Based on your notification settings, you may receive:

    • A push notification in the app

    • An email notification

    • A text notification (if enabled)

You can update which alerts you get by going to Menu → Notifications in the Linq app.
